Looking Back on 2011

It's been fun, 2011. Mostly.

In my previous post, I highlighted some of the things I will NOT miss about 2011. This time, I’ll be talking about some of the things about 2011 that were SO awesome that I just can’t wait to see what continues into 2012.

These are some of the best things to come out of this year;

  • The love and morale that resulted from the Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami, pulling efforts together across the world.
  • My long-awaited wedding and marriage with Sara.
  • My first finished novel manuscript to feature a beginning, middle, and classically stamped “The End”.
  • Celebrating Christmas with my wife.
  • Another Novel’s worth (two novellas) of written material on my Web Serial “Demigod Diaries”; more than 50,000 words of practice that turned out to be a LOT of fun.
  • A new passion for working out as a way to alleviate stress.
  • A new interest for web design.
  • A few good movies, during an admittedly dismal movie-year. (Another blog to come.)
  • Being married to Sara.
  • Visiting the Temple for the first, and then many times.

No but seriously, I may be kind of sappy about it, but being married to Sara is not just the best thing that happened to me this year, but my entire life; and finishing a novel was the best thing in at least ten years. This year, like any, had it’s ups and downs, but there were some real gems.

    I like this post! And I love hearing you sound so happy. I went for a temple session this morning so I share your joy of that wonderful blessing. I’m excited for 2012 and celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary, I can’t believe it’s been that long already (the happiness isn’t just a honeymoon period!)
